“Alas, a true Capitano needs no arrest warrant... only predictive
algorithms and pennachio!“
This character (lineup) reimagines the 16th–18th century Italian
street theatre stock characters of Commedia dell’Arte, mingling them
within the dystopian cyberpunk universe of the classic Bladerunner
movie. Focusing on the boastful yet cowardly captain, Il Capitano.
Exaggerating poses of Il Capitano, Arlecchino, and Pantalone, while
playing with costume design and silhouettes to explore the colourful
themes of class struggle, rebellion, along with fun robot vs. human
dynamics.
